The Williams Road Family Therapy Centre is a private practice and as such we do charge private fees that are partially rebateable through health insurance extras (depending on your level of cover, please check this with your provider).

Since the beginning of 2007 Psychological services are now partially rebateable through Medicare with specialist GP referral. Please call Medicare, speak to your GP or phone the practice for more information.

Dr. Peter Cantwell trained originally both in the USA and Germany, and co-ordinates the second year of training at the clinic.  He was also co-founder of the Gestalt Institute of Melbourne.  He works with most non-medical problems, including depression, stress anxiety, relationship and family issues.  He is also trained in the use of hypnosis for appropriate problems.  He works most days of the week by appointment.

Manel Halliday

Manel is a family therapist and accredited mental health clinician who works as a private practitioner out of Williams Road.  She also tutors final social work students at Monash University in the Skills Program.  For over 20 years Manel has worked both in the mental health field and with families and individuals experiencing a chronic illness, both in direct service delivery and management.  Manel has presented at international conferences on her work with families experiencing chronic disease undertaken through Western Health, where she works as a consultant.  Medicare rebates are available.
